Show Badger

Show Badger started as a joke, but it’s becoming increasingly serious as time goes on. The name comes from a combination of two companies: Show Ready Productions and Rocket Badger Productions.

Show Ready Productions is a Crewe-based community theatre company dedicated to producing high-quality, inclusive theatre and film, while championing local talent both on and off the stage. Most recently, Show Ready produced the smash-hit musical The Wedding Singer at the Crewe Lyceum Theatre, which played to packed houses and had audiences on their feet at every performance. Show Ready Productions is run by three creatives who share a passion for musical theatre and creating opportunities for local talent — one of those creatives is Benjamin Stubbs, who also has a keen interest in short film production.

Rocket Badger Productions is a bold, independent film company dedicated to telling queer and feminist stories that challenge convention and celebrate identity. Since launching in 2023, Rocket Badger Productions has produced nine films, which have collectively gained over half a million views on YouTube. Rocket Badger Productions is owned and operated by Katie Parker, who has a passion for filmmaking and for celebrating queer representation on screen.

Together, Katie Parker and Benjamin Stubbs create films under the name Show Badger. Although we have collaborated since the early days of both companies — with Stubbs acting in Rocket Badger’s very first film, Company, and writing/directing Rocket Badger-produced shorts such as Our Place and This Christmas — our first full collaboration as co-writers and co-directors, A Table For Two, has now reached over 115,000 views and counting.
