Calling all creatives!
Rocket Badger Productions has had the pleasure of working with Show Ready Productions on several projects including the recent 'This Is Awkward' and 'A Table For Two', and we’re excited to be working together again very soon.
Our upcoming projects include a Christmas-themed short film, as well as a number of smaller “micro shorts” and other productions currently in development. As we continue to grow, we’re creating a database of local creatives across Cheshire and the surrounding areas who may be interested in getting involved with these projects, or with future productions from either company.
Projects may take a few different forms. They could be:
Show Ready Productions projects — primarily theatre
Rocket Badger Productions projects — primarily film
“Show Badger” collaborations — combining the talents and resources of both companies for short film productions
By joining our Casting Collective, you’ll be added to our database of local actors and creatives. This allows us to easily get in touch when we have upcoming productions, casting opportunities, auditions or other creative projects that we think you might be interested in.
Joining the collective doesn’t commit you to taking part in any project — it simply means you’ll be among the first to hear about opportunities that may be a good fit for you.
We’re keen to build a strong network of local creatives and create more opportunities for people to collaborate, gain experience and, most importantly, make some great work together.

Our Christmas Film
The script is finished and casting is officially underway for this small indie production!
This 20-minute short is a farcical comedy packed with warm, festive energy, with a range of roles available (details below). To receive audition packs, you’ll need to be part of our casting collective.
Filming will take place over three days. As an independently funded production, this is currently a non-paid opportunity, but all cast will receive full on-screen credit and a copy of the finished film for their showreels and portfolios.
We’re excited to bring together a brilliant cast and make something fun, festive and genuinely collaborative!
Roles available:
🎅 John (Dad) — 40–60 Well-meaning, a little clueless, and trying (bless him) to say the right thing. Warm and loyal underneath the dad jokes.
🎄 Elaine (Mum) — 40–60 Sharp, warm, and always three steps ahead of everyone else. The quiet mastermind of the family.
🎁 Michael (Son) — 25–35 Hosting Christmas dinner and trying to keep it together. Anxious, well-meaning, and terrible at hiding things.
✨ Hailee (Sister) — 25–35 Cheeky, quick-witted, and never one to miss an opportunity to wind up her brother.
💫 Elijah (Boyfriend) — 20–40 Supportive and steady, but his patience wears thin the longer Michael avoids telling the truth — so he starts joining in the family's games himself.
🌟 Friend (Female) — 25–40 Roped into the day's chaos and doing her best to keep up.
A note on ages: these ranges are a guideline, not set in stone — if you feel right for a role, please apply anyway!
Filming dates — please only apply if you're free for ALL of these, no exceptions: 📅 10th October 2026 📅 18th October 2026 📅 24th October 2026 (Filming constraints mean we can't work around clashes, so do check your diary before applying!)
How to apply: To be considered, you'll need to join the Show Ready collective by clicking here — once you're in, we'll send you your audition pack with all the details as soon as they are ready. A video audition will be required as part of the process.
